The Design SuperHero

Who doesn’t like a design superhero… and learning something new in the world of design never hurts. I love how the site comes together with it’s rich blues, blacks and purples. The blues and purples bring the site together in a unique combination that has this web designer standing out of the WordPress crowd. I really like the little characture that he’s got on his site - unique… just the way I like it.

Karmamplify

Karmamplify takes on a very unique design and is totally going full tilt on a black background. There aren’t a lot of black coloured sites that actually do a great job of working with the colour - where it’s still exciting to visit and take a look around without just giving up because it’s too “dark”. Karmamplify takes bright, vivid colours and mixes it all together for a truely unique WordPress theme.

Ok I have to admit I really like the colour scheme that Michael Rei has used on his site. I’ll even “overlook” the spelling error that is right up close and personal when you visit his site - when you check out his availability… I really hope he gets a chance to change it - because the site is really well put together, and it sucks that there is some spelling issues. Not to worry - because I’m not going to focus on that.

He uses a nice neutral tones with this design and lets the important information “pop” at you with nice blues, pinks and greens. The site is very easy to navigate and the site offers alternating header images to seperate the content - nice!

Noupe

Noupe is a site that packs a lot of information into it’s pages. The main page has 3 columns - that looks to offer featured articles, another column for various articles from different categories and a navigation section to the far right of the site.

The site itself is great and I’m thinking the site might benefit from being a little wider - to allow for a bit more whitespace. Hey, I’m thinking the same thing for this site - a little wider… a little less squished.

Overall they’ve gone with a great layout - because of all the content they provide. For what they offer, they need to display it in the best way possible and that would be a magazine-style WordPress theme.

MindTwitch

MindTwitch is one of my favourite designs. It uses so many layers of images to create this great look. It’s not a typical WordPress blog theme - they’ve taken the time to create a custom look and it totally sticks with you afterwards that you want to go back and read what they have to say.

MindTwitch comes as a 2 column site, with an easy to navigate header navigation and a lot of sidebar navigation as well - but it’s not bad, easy to scroll down the list to find what you’re looking for.

From the leather background, to the old, torn papers… to patching it together with some great looking vectors and photos, it’s a visually appealing site.

Cheb 2.0

Ok, I’m a sucker for a sexy header and Cheb 2.0 does it’s job and then some. I love the styling that he’s done with his site. He’s taken what could have been just another run-of-the-mill look and totally made it his own. I

The site comes as a 2 column - with the navigation located on the left and the content on the right. Cheb is a Sidney based designer… which leads me to suspect that he’ll be changing his site theme up a bit - take a look while this fun theme is still there!
